11/12/04
- Jerry had an exciting weekend down in North Carolina. He finished in 1st
place. This year he had a total of 4 wins and 11 top 5 finishes. He is
happy with his results, but he wishes he had done a little better.
10/17/04
- Well,
the tuff truck season came to an end Saturday night at the Buck. After
that night, the points got shuffled around a lot. Charles didn’t
have much of a chance of winning the championship, after getting disqualified
in the Subaru and a DNF in the Honda, but he still gave it a shot. When
the night was over the points were all added. Jeremiah Creasy won the
2wd class, Charles got 2nd and Darrin Jobe got 3rd. Brady Finchbaugh won
the 4WD class, Charles got 2nd and Trevor Myers got 3rd.
Over all, Charles was happy with the season. He
finished the season with 20 1st place finishes out of 35 races. He only
had 1 DNF. He has already started working on the cars for next year’s
season opener in January or February.
10/06/04
-The
Buck was rained out last weekend. Many of the Tuff Trucks will be racing
at Blue Diamond Park Saturday afternoon, and then will be racing at the
Buck that night.>
9/23/04 -The lousy weather
cleared up Saturday morning in Cartersville, Virginia. They did an excellent
job keeping the track nice. Jerry got second place in the cut class on
Saturday, but broke a drive shaft in the transmission. His weekend ended
early.
9/16/04 - Saturday night we took the Tuff Trucks to the Shartlesville Campground.
Rich Miller and his crew made a really nice track; all of the drivers
loved it. Charles went there to test something that he changed on the
cars, and he was pleased with the results. We hope the guys at Shartlesville
will have more races next year. If so, we hope that they don't interfere
with the other races on our schedule, because we would like to go back.
8/30/04 -THE AMISH OUTLAW TEAM DOMINATES TUFF TRUCK NATIONALS
Last
Saturday at the Buck Motor Sports Park, in front of a sold out crowd,
the Amish Outlaw tuff trucks showed their power. Charles won the 1st 2WD
class and the 4WD class. Later that night, Erwin won the 2nd 2WD class
with his brother, Wayne, taking 3rd. Charles and Erwin were the only trucks
in the 29-second bracket, with 80 other tuff trucks trying to defeat them.
The
crowd got to see four great monster trucks: Sudden Impact, Eradicator,
Black Stallion, and the famous Big Foot. They amazed the crowd with wheelies,
high jumps, and a wild freestyle.
8/22/04 - Despite the threat of heavy rain, we managed to race at the Buck Saturday
night. Charles was very happy to get this race in after his bad finishes
the last time there. He needs all the points he can get. After taking
a first & fourth place finish, he moved back into the top 5 in both classes.
On Monday night, at the Kutztown Fair, it was a very different track.
The track was hard and very dry. It was so dusty that we could not get
any pictures of the cars there. The crowd loved the monster trucks and
tuff trucks. We hope we will be back there again.
The
shop is busy getting Jerry's car ready for the upcoming races. They have
been figuring out different gears in the transmission and changing the
clutch settings. We are going to be in Cartersville, VA the September
21st and 22nd. The tuff trucks and sand drags are going to be at Blue
Diamond Park during there fair, but we are not sure when exactly. We will
let you know the dates as soon as we get them from KSR Motor Sports, the
promoter that brings some of the best mud, monster truck and tuff truck
races around.
8/5/04
- Jerry
is back from the Bond Auto Parts Nationals in Essex Junction, Vermont.
On Sunday he was happy with a 2nd place finish in class five. The track
was a little harder to get a hold of on Sunday. Jerry spun the tires,
and ended up with a 4th place finish in class six. The guys in the shop
are working on the gear setup, and changing the chassis to try and get
our first national win.
We
are pleased to announce that we are going to be apart of the Brad Penn
racing program. Brad Penn is part of the Amercian
Refining Group, out of Bradford, PA. We will be selling all
of their racing products. You can order them from Charles or Jerry, and
they will be able to deliver them to the races for you.
7/26/04 - Well, this was just one of those weekends for our race team. Saturday
afternoon, Jerry raced in class five at the Summit Truck Style Nationals
in Canfield, Ohio. He came out of there with a strong 2nd place finish.
Robert Reese, another Amish Outlaw team member ran in class four. We want
to congratulate him on his 5th place finish. Later that night at the Buck,
Charles didn’t have that kind of luck. He ran the Honda, and broke an
axle in the 2wd class. In the 4wd class he got disqualified with the Subaru
for not stopping long enough in the stop box. Sunday afternoon in Canfield,
Jerry ran after a couple cars had a lot of trouble, which made his lane
a mess. He had to peddle the car twice, and went out of bounds. Sunday
night at Blue Diamond Park, there was a field of 11 really good cars.
Charles turned his weekend around with two great runs taking a first and
second place. The crowd was excited with everyone’s performance. Pictures
from these races will be posted by the end of the week.
7/12/04 - We are back from
Bloomsburg now. Most all went well, both days. Saturday we ran in the
left lane, which was the slow lane. We fried the tires for 50 feet, then
the car took off. This was because of a bad clutch setting. The guys worked
on the clutch and the fuel system for ½ the night on Saturday. Sunday,
we were in the slow lane again, but the car hooked up much better and
we grabbed a 4th place finish. We are making big chassis changes for Canfield,
Ohio and are looking forward to a good weekend.
7/7/04 -We
have just updated the results, and we are working on the pictures, we
are extremely busy in the shop with customer’s cars and getting ready
for a busy month of racing. The pictures of Blue Diamond will be up in
the next couple days, and following week we will have lots of pictures
from Bloomsburg. There was a huge crowd at Blue Diamond Park last weekend.
Everything went well for us there. Brian Stoltzfus won the Tuff Truck
class in the Subaru, and Charles took a second in the Honda. Jerry won
the Sand and Mud class. Next weekend we will be at the Nationals in Bloomsburg,
PA. We are hoping not just to win, but we are going to try and break the
200 ft. record. The guys in the shop are worried about the high temperatures
and the altitude in Bloomsburg, that it will be hard to get the most power
out of the motor.
6/09/04 - Jerry went to
South Boston, VA last weekend. Despite 2 days of rain, and a sloppy track,
we won another one. We ran a 2.141, but fried the tires the whole way
through the pit and had to leave off early due to lack of shut down area.
Now we are trying to make adjustments on the chassis for tracks like this.
We are happy with how the car is running, and look forward to hitting
the Nationals, and trying to set some new records. We are not sure where
we are racing next, but we know that we will all be back at Blue Diamond
Park July 3 with tough trucks and sand drags.
6/02/04 - Mud/Sand – Well,
a lot went on this weekend at Blue Diamond Park. After finding engine
problems in Jerry’s mud racer on Friday, our hopes for a good weekend
seemed to be disappearing before our eyes. After a lot of help from our
friends and crew, a 12-hour engine rebuild and a cam change, we took the
engine off life support and fired it. As you can see in our results page,
it is running strong. The fans in Delaware were very impressed. On Sunday
we made an exhibition pass that was even faster.
Tuff Trucks - The tuff trucks went well also. Coming back after a couple
years off, Brian “Turtle” Stoltzfus came to Blue Diamond Park to race.
That was the first time that the three brothers have raced together for
about 5 years. Charles had a good run in the Honda on Saturday, and Brian
had an outstanding run in the Subaru on Sunday. Blue Diamond is a really
nice park, and we all look forward to being back.
5/24/04 - We
want to thank the Walton Brothers Farm for holding off on planting their
crops, so that we could use their field to test the mud car on Sunday.
We were happy with the power of the motor, since it ripped the rear of
the car. The guys are busy making a roll control for the rear suspension,
and making new 4 link mounts for the rear axle. We are making a lot of
changes on the website, trying to make it easier to navigate. We hope
to be adding video to the site, and splitting up the photo section so
that we can put on more pictures. Charles wants to wish everyone good
luck at Shartlesville and Wyoming County on the 29th and 30th. He will
be in Delaware at the Blue Diamond race. He and Jerry will both be racing
there.
5/14/04 - We are updating
the site today with the results, and changing some of the schedule. We
will be adding some pictures today, and some later this week or in the
beginning of next week. All of the guys in the shop are working really
hard to get Jerry's race car finished to go to the Nationals in Lima,
Ohio. Charles had a really good week at the Buck winning both of his classes,
and team member Erwin Stoltzfus winning the 2nd 2WD class.
4/29/04 - Tuff Trucks -The
Subaru’s steering is all rebuilt, so we shouldn’t have problems like we
did at Harrisburg. The Honda is almost back to normal since Doug’s rollover
in Harrisburg. We hope to see everyone at Buck Motor Sports Park May 8.
Mud/Sand – We have been real busy in the shop and haven’t had much spare time. The
driveline is all finished on the rear engine car. Jeff Fowler from Fowler
Engines is finishing up the carbon fiber injection and shipping it out
this week. We have a lot of little things to finish up, but hope to be
testing in the next 10 days, and hope to be at the Nationals in Lima,
Ohio May 14-16.
4/8/04 -We’re
all busy in the shop trying to get all of the cars ready for races in
the beginning of May. We still have a lot of work to do to Jerry’s new
rear engine car. The driveline on the car is just about complete. Lena
has been busy gathering old pictures to update our photo pages. We have
also added to the sponsors’ page, make sure you check them out. Everyone
has been asking to see Jerry's new car, so there are some of the pictures
of the new rear engine car in the Current Photos 2004.
3/25/04 - Tuff
Trucks -Well, we all made it through the races in Harrisburg with little
damage. We had a good weekend. Friday night went well for the team. Charles
finished first with the Subaru and Doug finished 5th with the Honda. Saturday
night was not a good night. We had mechanical problems with both the Honda
and the Subaru. Sunday was somewhat a good day. Everyone was having trouble
getting stopped, so after talking it over with Doug Hutton, who was driving
the Honda for us this weekend, we decided it was better to take it easy.
Charles finished 2nd with the Subaru and Doug finished 4th with the Honda
after an exciting end over end flip in the shut down area. Thankful for
our good safety equipment, Doug was not injured.
Mud/Sand – All is going well with the new car. The motor is in and the intake is
almost finished. It is being fitted for the new blower by Chuck Courty,
owner of Mud Missile. Jerry is working on the drive shafts and getting
the rear together. Mike Gehron finished resplining the front axles last
week, and we just picked up the magnesium front center section last week.
The center section was custom made by Winters Performance Products in
York, Pa. We only need a few more parts and then we will be ready to test
at Walton’s Farm. We are still working on sponsor programs for the Amish
Outlaw Racing team. Rich McCarter is busy meeting with businesses weekly.
3/01/04 - Tuff Trucks -Our
season got off to a good start. We went to Salisbury, MD in the Wicomco
Arena as a test race with the new Subaru. As you can see on the Results
Page, we did very well. We are looking forward to a good season this year.
We are going to try to repeat the championships at Buck Motor Sports Park.
We are also glad to announce that there are several races at Blue Diamond
Park in New Castle, DE. We will have the tuff trucks and sand dragster
there.
Mud/Sand – It seems to have been a long time since we have went racing
in the mud, but the new car is coming along nicely. We have had a lot
of help. Art at Xotic Motor Sports finished all of the welding on 2/20/04
and did a great job. Thanks to Jamie Topper, he and Charles finished the
body on 2/21/04. Joe Pierson finished painting the chassis and body on
3/1/04. We are reassembling now. Charles is putting the motor together
the first of March.
